Happy Holidays from Ghost Walk!

It’s that time of year again – a time to reflect on the year behind us and plan for the year ahead. Most of us spend the holidays with our loved ones, sharing special moments of laughter, enjoying amazing feasts, and creating new memories we’ll have for a lifetime. Some of us may even sit around the table making those ever elusive New Year’s resolutions…with good intentions of following through with everyone, of course!

The staff of Ghost Walk does the same. We reflect on our accomplishments of the past year, we pick apart our failures (and sadly, we do have them) so we can avoid making the same mistakes in the future, and we plan for the New Year. Our plans for future projects are somewhat like New Year’s resolutions. We agree to forge ahead, avoiding pitfalls we’ve encountered in the past, and promising to make the next year even better than the last. And we do make it better every single year! We are blessed. While we’ve not had the finances we wish we had, we still manage to keep on keepin’ on and the fact that we’ve been able to do this with the little resources we have means we can’t dwell on our losses but can only feel truly blessed for all we’ve gained. Mostly, we’re blessed to have such wonderful friends and fans. The encouragement from all of you is constant, unending, and appreciated more than you know.

What does Ghost Walk have in store for the upcoming year? We’re going to amp it up a bit. Lilly’s story will finally be written (maybe even published?), we’re going to get more involved with charity work, there’ll be fun contests with amazing prizes, we hope to get into print publications, we’ll be releasing the full-version DVD of our latest movie The Farm, we hope to add new and exciting merchandise to our Mercantile, and our ultimate goal is just to reach out to more people than ever before. We’ve got this amazing story to tell and it WILL be told!

What are your plans for 2012? We’d love to hear from you…what are your dreams? Your goals? What is something you did not do this year that you want to do in the next year? Write us!

Whatever your plans, know that the staff of Ghost Walk wish you all the best! We wish for you a holiday season and New Year filled with peace, love and happiness!

Lilly...

Most of you who've followed Ghost Walk for awhile know about Lilly, our little girl ghost.

For those who are new and have not yet heard of her, she's amazing!  She's been with Rocky Karlage, our President/Founder for most of his life and began appearning to him when he was about 19 years old.  She's chosen to reach out to a few of us that she's learned she can truly trust.

She is the reason we do what we do.  She is the reason we keep pushing ourselves.  She is the reason we exist at all.

You can follow her on MySpace and/or Facebook but know that we are fiercely protective of her!

Get to know her.  Listen to the music she chooses for her playlist, watch the videos she posts because they always have a message, read our notes, look at her photos...she has a powerful message she wants to share with all of you.

Most of all, be her friend.  She does love to be loved and it brings her joy to give love!  She has an abundance to share!

We love and cherish you Sweet Angel...forever.

Meet Leya Siri from The Farm!

Ghost Walk Productions would like to take a moment to introduce you to Ms. Leya Siri.  She graciously stepped in to take over the part of Estella in our film The Farm.  It took courage on her part to take on an existing production and she did so with amazing talent!

A little background...

Leya attended Walton-Verona high school, but transferred to homeschooling half way through her high school career to further pursue modeling and acting. She has appeared as both lead and additional cast in several musicals including "Little Shop of Horrors", "Princess and the Pea", and "All Shook Up". Leya is also a musician, playing various musical instruments.

This is Leya's first major film appearance; replacing the former actress as the lead character, Estella Harper. She is excited to expand her acting career through Ghost Walk Productions, and become the best actress possible. Leya's enthusiasm and readiness to step in to an ongoing production is a testament to her courage and ability as an actress.

Welcome Leya!  We are happy to have you as part of the family!

Updates 11-28-11: We're Not Giving Up Just Yet!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The staff of Ghost Walk Productions is constantly busy.  We never stop and manage to accomplish quite a lot with very little.  While our financial resources are seriously lacking, we still manage to keep moving forward.  This is something we simply can not do with you so we're quite excited to jump start the month of December with amazing opportunities for you!

Sadly, we must report that our latest sales campaign is becoming an EPIC FAIL.  The design is to donate 25% of the profit to the FreeStore Food Bank and we are so hoping that our efforts to help feed the hungry will encourage more people to get involved.  Alas, this does not seem to be happening.  So, why not take a moment to comment on this blog and tell us what we could do better?   Is there a particular product or products you'd like to see from Ghost Walk?   WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!  We are so happy when we do get feedback from our fans and this time we apparently need it so WRITE TO US!

However, WE ARE NOT GIVING UP & IT ISN'T TOO LATE!  We are still planning to donate until the end of 2011 so please visit our Mercantile and check out what we've got to offer!  We are incredibly excited to announce that the film festival version of our film The Farm is available just in time for Christmas!  This project was a true labor of love and we couldn't be more pleased with the way it has turned out.  Not only is this an amazing story but you can own this DVD for ONLY $10 and BONUS...Buy the DVD and get a $5 GIFT CERTIFICATE to use on any item in our online store as our way of saying THANK YOU!

STAY TUNED...fun contest news coming very soon!!!!

Ghost Walk Update 11/17/11...

Ghost Walk Productions has been BUSY!  We are so excited to bring you the latest news and hope you are as thrilled as we are!

Filming has wrapped on The Farm!  That's right, folks!  It's done and we couldn't be happier with the final result.  It was a struggle at times and we've learned a lot during this process.  We learned the hard way about scheduling conflicts, financial burdens, and delays - delays - delays, however; we plowed through and we made this happen!

We owe a special thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and resources. Shoutouts go to:

Our amazing hosts Kim and Tim Hicks who graciously let us use their home as if it were our own for filming

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our actors who absolutely embraced this project and gave it their all: John Chiara, Leya Sini, Holly Neelie, Richard T. Phillis, Janine Bowles Sarnowski, and Joel David Anger. All of you are incredible people and we feel honored to have had the opportunity to work with you!

To our Director, Steve Olander - thank you for your hardwork and dedication!

Thank you to Victoria Vardon (Associate Producer/Casting) and Tony Vardon (Art Director) for your guidance and talent!

Our make-up team - Terry, Heather, Matt, and Michaelene who made our actors appear beautiful and scary!

And to our behind the scenes staff - thank you for your support!

What an adventure!

While filming, we began a new endeavor:  a new radio show!  Join our host Maria Mazur every Tuesday evening (7pm EST, 6pm CST, 4 pm Pacific) on Tenacity Radio for Haunted Path Live!  We decided it'd be a great idea to bring our magazine Haunted Path to life!  We promise to bring you incredible entertainment by some of the most well-known talents in the industry!  If you've missed our previous shows, we hope you'll listen in the archives!

Ghost Walk is still on BlogTalk Radio too!  Every week, we bring you an old-time mystery sure to chill you to the bone so don't forget to tune in!

And last, but certainly not least, this holiday season Ghost Walk Productions is joining forces with FreeStore Foodbank to help ease the burden of families in need. We will donate 25% of each sale made at our Ghost Walk Mercantile store and from sales of our Haunted Path Magazine.  Help us take the horror out of the holidays!  By purchasing exclusive items from our Mercantile, you not only get some snazzy gifts for under your tree but you help feed families who might otherwise not have a hot meal to eat.  It is so vitally important that we all do our part to help families in need and our community so help us help them!  We've got some amazing deals going on in our Mercantile right now so we encourage you to take advantage!  Some items are only available on a limited basis so ACT FAST!

Thanks to all of you, our wonderful friends, for your constant encouragement and support!  We can't do this without you!

The Farm ... still going!
We've been pretty busy with filming, editing, writing, and attempting to promote  ... any Marketing type people care to apply?  We need you!  We're pretty close to a wrap except for 3 major scenes to be filmed in November.   The script calls for some very spooky stuff and we may just creep ourselves out while filming!  Stay tuned....

A Work of Art!
We knew it was going to be good when our Art Director Tony Vardon set his mind to hand paint the official image for The Farm movie, but we didn't know it was going to be this good!  It truly is a work of art which is available as poster (in our store listed below) and will grace the cover of the film DVDs.  Check it out!

The Farm Premiere!
The film premiere at The Haunted Farm on Halloween weekend was a success!  The actors and film crew who attended had a lot of fun and many people stopped by to ask about the film after they saw the Festival Version premiere.   Victoria, Associate Producer, said she witnessed viewers get excited about the film as they watched and then wanted to see more after viewing the tease!  We passed out over 150 of the premiere souvenir cards which also included a 15% discount to our new store and merchandise!

Actor John Chiara, star of The Farm, with his adoring fans!

Richard T. Phillis & John Chiara, stars of The Farm movie, with several members of Ghost Walk Productions crew.

The Farm - Bloody Special FX!

Lilly's World...

It is the early 1800s, in “Small-town,” Ohio.

In the background, you may have seen bountiful cornfields, wooded landscapes, clear skies, and heard sounds of rushing water.

This was during a time when fashion revealed the social class of an individual, games filled with laughter were the highpoints of the evening, manners and etiquette were expected, and this elegant era ushered in a movement of artistic pursuits so powerful they remain with us to this day.

There was no way to know then that the death of a little girl would span generations and affect us so profoundly. Like the music and poetry of this golden era, the little girl remains with us, as well.

As we fast forward to a new century, a young man, is walking down a country road. The setting: a sunny yet cloudless summer day. It was during a time when people didn’t feel it necessary to lock their doors during the day. Most felt safe, except for this young man who encountered a full-bodied apparition, shifting in and out of focus, offering him a smile that chilled him to the bone. He somehow knew that this would not be the last he would see of her. He was right.

Years later in November 2009, older and much wiser, Mr. Rocky Karlage, President and creator of Ghost Walk, sat down to pen a narrative that some find difficult to believe. However, he tells of us his experiences with such conviction, that even the most die-hard skeptics begin to open their minds to the possibility that yes, there does in fact exist the possibility that spirits are real.

We know “the little girl” is real.

In the beginning of Ghost Walk, “the little girl” was a constant spirit companion to Rocky, and also the basis of a character in our story. She was given the name Lela to indentify her fictional character in the Ghost Walk saga. While we no longer spend the time moderating our MySpace profiles as we have in the past, we encourage everyone to visit the profile of “the little girl” for the purpose of learning more of her character and getting to know her through her journal entries. Understand that these writings, while reflecting the nature of the fictional character, are also strongly tied to the real ghost child and we are now sure of her true name.

We welcome you to the world of Lilly!

Lilly has chosen to speak through psychics or mediums at times when she’s needed to communicate. With the help of these special people, this is how we discovered her true name. Lilly has always communicated with Rocky first and foremost, and she quickly became less frightening than his earlier experiences suggested. It was upon discovering her actual name that she seemed to begin opening up and sharing more about her life and the tragedy surrounding her death, which we suspect was at the hands of a relative. She has shared so much with us in recent years and we feel compelled to share with you details, as we can tell them.

Before reading further, please realize that our priority is keeping Lilly safe and that will remain our priority, no matter the situation. We protect her. We take her safety seriously and we ask that you do the same. When she feels threatened she retreats, will hide behind Rocky, and he can sense how she feels. When she is scared, her friends do all they can to guard and comfort her. Trust is important.

Lilly has proven herself to be quite a girl! She is intelligent beyond her years (we believe she may be 12 or 13 years old), she has a mischievous and delightful sense of humor; she can be quite persistent when she needs to get a message across, and she has adapted well to today’s technology using it as a way to converse. She finds music and videos to tell us things she likes and things she doesn’t like. We get a glimpse into her mood by the songs she chooses and these songs almost always have a strong and important meaning behind them. However, she’s been known to pick playful songs too! She chooses her own profile pictures on her Facebook page to let us, and you, know how she’d like to be seen, and these pictures change often. Pay attention. We implore you to hear what Lilly is trying to say.

While there are details we can not pass along at this time so that we may protect Lilly, as well as ourselves, we can tell you one of the most important things about her is she loves her friends. She has reached out to some whom she knows she can trust. She has visited those closest to her. She has particularly enjoyed time with the Haunted Dolls living in the home of Tom and Traci Watkins. Lilly adores dolls! She does not like to feel alone but on her journey she has suffered a great deal of loneliness and at times has felt incredibly lost. We feel in time she will pass on and find the peace she so truly deserves, but until that time comes, Lilly has much she wishes to accomplish.

Having traveled so far through such a forlorn and painful journey to get to where she is now, Lilly is remarkable in that she still has so much love to share. Despite all she has been through, she is an amazing bright spot in our lives. Our hope is that you will become her friend and share your love and support with her.

Ghost Walk Productions, LLC is in the process of creating an updated version of Lilly’s story. We’ll be detailing more about her life and death, more about who she is, and she has friends who have graciously chosen to share their experiences concerning Lilly. Until the book is released, please visit Lilly on Facebook and take the time to read her notes, watch her videos, and look through her pictures. You will be astounded at all our cherished, sweet girl has to offer.

True Meaning of Ghost Walk...

(IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THIS BLOG WAS WRITTEN ON THE EVENING OF MAY 30, 2011)

To know the people of Ghost Walk is to know true friendship. We are a dedicated group of people who, along with our personal daily struggles, give freely to this project. We wake up everyday looking forward to the time we’ll set aside just to spend volunteering for Ghost Walk, and it is during these times we’ve bonded and grown close to one another in a most spiritual way. We live all over the world. We have gotten to know each other solely during online chats, work meetings, and emails. We use Facebook to share photos of our families and share our triumphs and defeats, our joy and our sadness, and through all of this, we’ve created a bond we know can never be broken. We invite others to share in this kinship, always learning who is sincere and who is not. Loyalty is important to us and we continually cherish those who have remained loyal for these past years.

Everything we do comes from the heart. We’re blessed to be a part of Ghost Walk and to be a part of each other’s lives. Don’t misunderstand…we’ve argued! Boy, have we argued! But, it is our devotion to this project and to one another that helps us weather these storms. There is nothing too big for us to handle together!

And that is what we do…we get through everything…the good and the bad…TOGETHER. We know there is nothing in this world we can not do as long as we lean on each other.

Tonight is not about promoting. Tonight is about friendship and love. It is about faith, trust, and unbreakable unions.

We’ll leave you with this thought. It has been our motto since the beginning. We live it everyday.

“For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf,
and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack”

What Makes Ghost Walk So Special?

What makes Ghost Walk so special?

Most of us are struggling during these tough times. It is hard enough for us to make ends meet, let alone find extra pennies to donate to those in need. We all hope for a positive change in our own lives and the lives of others. Most of us find ourselves asking the question “what can I do to help?” It is a known fact that performing an act of kindness can boost our spirits when things aren’t going quite like we wish they would.

Ghost Walk is not a true charity, in the literal sense of the concept. Most everyone looks for an organization who clothes the homeless or feeds the hungry, and when reading a plea from Ghost Walk, probably most feel their donations could go towards a better cause. It’s possible most believe we are just out to make a buck. It is also likely that when folks realize we’re in the entertainment business, they begin to feel we just care about becoming famous.

The staff of Ghost Walk NEED for everyone to understand these shallow misconceptions are NOT what we are about.

So what is it about us that makes us special? The truth is, we’re just like you. We’re Moms and Dads - most with young children, some of us home school our children while working part time jobs, some of us work hours outside of our homes that consistently exceed your average 40 hours per week, we have bills to pay, we struggle with gas prices, we have health issues and hardships. We are just like everyone else. What makes us special is our incredibly intense faith in what we do for Ghost Walk. This is not about money or getting famous. If that were the case, we’d have given up many years ago! That’s right…YEARS. We’ve been at this for years, volunteering our time, talents, blood, sweat, and tears and not one of us has made a dime. We’ve never given that fact second thought and that is due to FAITH. Faith in the story, faith in each other, faith in Ghost Walk. Period. Some of you might not even know that in addition to our tireless volunteer efforts given to Ghost Walk, in addition to our personal lives, some of the staff also spend countless hours making crafts to sell to help fund Ghost Walk. We consistently go that extra mile to ensure the success of Ghost Walk. We will never go away and we will never give up.

To date, we’ve kept this project afloat with just our abilities. We’ve come this far using only our skills and talents. We’ve managed to bring to our friends and fans videos, original music scores, a newsletter, an e-magazine, merchandise, and we’ve written until our fingers bled to bring you the story of Ghost Walk. Our website is a labor of love developed with no finances at all. Visit our site and you will immediately see our dedication to this endeavor. We’ve managed to accomplish quite a lot with no money! Now, it is time to take it to the next level.

WE CAN NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT.

We have never asked anyone to donate large sums of money. It is unreasonable to expect our friends and fans to make that kind of sacrifice. What we are asking is simple: whatever you can give and there are so many ways exciting ways to help Ghost Walk!

Our newest, most exciting project is our Haunted Path E-Zine. We are truly stoked about this one! In each issue, we’ll be bringing you news, articles, interviews, fiction, art, photography, reviews of books, movies, and the latest in the paranormal world. Primarily paranormal in theme, we also feature interviews and articles from 'realms other' than the spooky and supernatural. The cost is phenomenal at only $4.99 for a safe download, $9.95 (plus postage) if you’d like a hard copy mailed to you, and this publication is also available for Kindle! Payment is conveniently handled via PayPal, but if you wish to pay by another method, we’re happy to accommodate you so please contact us via email. Visit our Haunted Path website and purchase issue #4 today!
